10-4-2023 Greater Trinity Missionary Baptist Church Leadership Team (GTMBCLT): Training: Session #3
Before the session had fellowship dinner to care and service our busy members work life balance.
Training Minutes
7:04PM started training with prayer - Tanya Parker.
Pastor Dr. Paul A. Stoot began the session refreshing the team on the previous week’s homework assignment. There was a total of seven sub teams (administration, evangelism, exhortation, mercy-showing, serving, shepherding, and teaching gifts) based on the survey participant responses. Since there were many new members, Pastor allowed for the leadership team to break out into the seven sub teams for eight minutes discussion to answer what their primary spiritual gift means to the team?
The sub teams gave multiple scriptures to align with their spiritual gifts. For example, the Administration’s sub team Deacon Bryant read some of the following:
KJV: Romans 12: 3 & 6-8. (v.3.) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (v.6-8.) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
KJV: 2 Corinthians 9:10-12 & 15. (v.10-12.) Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;). Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God. (v.15.) Thanks be unnto God for his unspeakable gift.
Other sub teams gave attributes to their gifts like Cecilia Fulghum spoke on Shepherding KJV: Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Kevin Young representing the mercy-showing sub team read KJV: Psalms 145:8&9 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
After each sub team lead spoke on what their spiritual gift means to them. Pastor then asked the team as a whole what does learning of the spiritual gifts mean? The team answered collectively, and I said the gifts mean discovering our purpose to help us know why we are here.
Pastor said ”We Matter, We Matter to the Kingdom of God!”
Daily we are in need of something!
Later on in the meeting there was sentimental discussion of Mother Well’s who has since transitioned on to be with the lord. It was great to hear her grandson Marcus Allen is attending the services again. Others on the team gave heart felt testimonies we briefly discussed the handout lesson for next week “Evangelism”.
We ended the training session holding hands with prayer and ended at 8:04PM. Have a blessed rest of the week.
Hallelujah & Amen~
